Top Fall Wedding Trends

As the leaves start to turn and pumpkins are popping up everywhere, brides across the nation are diving into the planning process for the biggest day of their lives. Fall wedding season is in full swing and there's a lot to love about weddings this fall. There is always a shift in fall trends from year to year and Dany Mizrachi is here to give you the inside scoop on the top wedding trends for this fall. Everything from flowers and cakes to haute couture wedding dresses. Find some fall wedding inspiration below!

Fall Wedding Flower Trends

Centerpieces - One of the hottest trends for fall flowers is lush arrangements with many different textures. Instead of using just a few types of blooms in your centerpieces, try a wide mix of flowers that compliment your color scheme. Succulents are a popular landscaping trend and stylish brides are incorporating them into their centerpieces too.

Wedding Bouquet – loosely tied bouquets are a common choice for many brides that get married during spring and summer. However, for fall weddings, bouquets can be more structured and put together. Instead of leaving stems exposed, you can wrap them in textured fabric, ribbons or velvet sashes.

Fall Wedding Cake Trends

Topper-less cakes and smaller tiers have arrived for the season. Couples are going for a clean, textured look instead of fondant designs and over the top sugar flowers. Naked cakes are also a new trend that is taking over the wedding scene. These naked cakes are essentially translucent cakes. This type of cake has a thin veil of frosting with just a bit of cake showing through. These cakes are then drizzled with things like caramel or ganache. The size of the wedding cake is also beginning to shrink. Couples still participate in the classic notion of cutting the cake, but they’re also providing fun and unique alternatives to cake. Popular alternative items are cake pops, donuts, cupcakes and even pie.

Fall Wedding Fashion Trends

Billowy Sleeves – this look is for all the hopeless romantics. Long billowy sleeves can give a simple gown an instant vintage feel.

Flower Details – florals have been hot for a while, but botanical details are starting to take over. This is an edgier take on more traditional embroidery.

Structured Corsets – this look feels like it was brought straight from the Elizabethan era. Structured corsets are sexy without being too dramatic and they accentuate the narrowest part of your body.

Cascading Ruffles – allover ruffles can add dimension to a slim silhouette and it brings the drama to your dress. If allover ruffles aren’t for you, a full skirt of ruffles is both whimsical and fashion forward.

Bridal Capes – you can incorporate a bridal cape or capelet if veils aren’t your thing. This add-on gives your dress a whole new look. It’s also easy to wear for the ceremony and then remove when you’re ready to dance at the reception.
